Tame Your Pleater Threads – Video!

Little Crocus is expanding to YouTube!

There are a lot of times I find it easier to explain things in a short conversation instead of written words. So, I’ve set up a YouTube channel to help document my creation of a mini-wardrobe based on late Victorian and Edwardian styles. Starting in the 1880’s, you see a rise in smocking in women’s garments, and I’m excited to highlight that technique in these garments.

I’m starting off with possibly the strangest of things, though. It goes beyond niche to, like, crack in the wall.

Smocking pleater threads.

I have one of the smallest pleaters, a 16-row Little Amanda Jane. And yet, I still struggle with corraling all of those spools of thread. Or, I have to cut threads and risk having them be too short for my project. And they still get tangled.

Finally, I found a solution for organizing all my smocking threads AND keeping them readily available for use. Enjoy!

Subscribe to my channel if you’d like to see future videos as I smock my way through this mini-wardrobe!
